Mahogany Gallery Presents SEEN at Atlanta Art Fair

ATLANTA, GA — Following recent presentations in Indianapolis, New York and Chicago, Mahogany Gallery continues its national momentum at the Atlanta Art Fair with SEEN—a curated presentation exploring portraiture, identity and the power of being seen.

Through Imo Nse Imeh, Tasha Beckwith, Nate Austin and Brad Lee, SEEN brings together distinct artistic voices examining Black identity, memory, womanhood, humanity and presence through figuration, storytelling and form.

Imo Nse Imeh presents an exploratory series that expands the thought and execution of the monumental works for which he is known. Presented at a more intimate scale, the series offers a new entry point into his evolving practice.

Tasha Beckwith, the only Black illustrator for the U.S. Mint, centers Black women through expressive works exploring beauty, identity, strength and lived experience.

Nate Austin’s powerful figurative works use gesture, symbolism and emotion to build layered narratives around identity, history and the human experience.

Brad Lee expands SEEN beyond the canvas through sculpture, bringing the human form into three-dimensional space and adding texture, materiality and physical presence to the presentation.

“SEEN is ultimately about presence—who is seen, how we see one another and the power artists have to shape those narratives,” said Scott Terry, founder and curator of Mahogany Gallery.
